What is High Point Market? The High Point Market is the largest furnishings industry trade show in the world, bringing more than 75,000 people to High Point, North Carolina, every six months. It is 13 city blocks, 180 buildings and 2000 showrooms! Designers attend for several reasons – to see new product introductions, meet design icons, connect with new and existing suppliers, connect with colleagues, and to recharge connectivity.
Some trends I saw were: lots of natural materials (used in lighting, too!), swivel accent chairs (sooo many of these and you would never even know they swiveled!), game tables, pretty office furniture (for example sideboards that look like sideboards but are actually file cabinet drawers), reclining furniture that you could not even tell reclined, curved furniture, velvet and more boucle!
It was a successful yet exhausting trip. I saw so many fantastic pieces and products, connected with new vendors, met up with designer colleages from social media, attended a tour of the new Kravet showroom hosted by one of my absolute favorite, long admired designers, Suzanne Kasler, and sat with Larry Laslo in some of his custom pieces at Chaddock!
I was thrilled to go for the first time last weekend and took over 450 pictures the two days that I was there! I dumped a bunch on this page to share with you! Most of these sources are trade only (you can work with me if you are interested in furnishing a space with items like these) but they are a great place to get inspiration for your own home.
