Use mercury glass to decorate year round!  Decorating with mercury glass is a great way to add a little polish to your home.  Mercury glass has a vintage flair, yet is modern without being too glitzy.  

Mercury glass, also known as silvered glass, contains neither mercury nor silver. It’s actually clear glass, mold-blown into double-walled shapes and coated on the inside with a silvering formula.

During the cold long Winter months when it gets dark early, the glow and sparkle of mercury glass candlesticks can be relaxing and cheerful at the same time.  In Spring and Summer you can pair mercury glass with lighter and more washed tones of decor and it looks great with blue and white porcelain. It also works as a complement to bright colors.

Mercury glass works in all decor styles.  The shapes of mercury glass objects are appealing and the glow of the silvered glass adds subtle sparkle anywhere in the home.  Some of the decorating objects that you can find that are made out of mercury glass are: mason jars, vases, urns, candle holders, lamps, mirrors, trays and lampshades.  Around particular holidays you can also find mercury glass pumpkins and Christmas trees. Christmas ornaments made of mercury glass are also available and really add sparkle when you hang them on your tree next to white lights.

Try grouping a collection of mercury glass pieces on a sideboard or console table. A collection of candle holders with white candles is so inviting! Mercury glass vases or flower cache pots filled with flowers and/or greenery look beautiful. A collection or small grouping on a fireplace mantel works wonderful as well.
